People maintain a society free from serious internal conflict and have developed considerably with natural, human, and cultural resources.

Almost two-thirds of the people live in rural regions and are involved in agriculture. Settlements are concentrated within the golden triangle which consists of major cities of Accra the capital, Kumasi, and the Sekondi – Takoradi.
